Alathra Brewery Guide
This guide explains how to get started with the Brewery plugin on Alathra and includes a selection of common brew recipes.
Getting Started
To brew your first drink, you'll need the following materials:
- Cauldron
- Water Source
- Glass Bottles
- Heat Source (e.g., Campfire, Lit Netherrack, Lava)
- Brewing Stand
- Wood for a barrel (multiblock structure)
- Clock
- Various Ingredients
- Yeast (Brown or Red)
Fermenting Process
Setup
- Place your heat source.
- Place the cauldron directly above it.
- Fill the cauldron with water.
Your setup should look like this:
Brewing
- Add your ingredients to the cauldron.
- Let the mixture cook for the recipe’s required time.
- Use a clock to monitor fermenting time.
- Right-click the cauldron with 3 empty glass bottles to collect the brew once ready.
Note:
- The maximum fermenting time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
- Right-clicking with a clock shows how long the brew has been cooking.
Distillation Process
Some brews require distillation—sometimes multiple times.
- Place your Brewing Stand.
- Add Glowstone Dust to the ingredient slot (it won’t be consumed). |
- Insert your brew bottles into the brewing slots.
Tip: Always distill your brew before aging it.
Barrel Aging
Certain brews require aging in wooden barrels. There are two types:
Small Barrel
Required:
- 8 matching wood stairs
- 1 sign made of the same wood
Construction:
- Build a 2x2 barrel with 4 upside-down stairs facing outward.
- Add 4 right-side-up stairs on top facing outward.
- Place a sign labeled Barrel on the bottom-right stair.
Large Barrel
Required:
- 18 matching wood stairs
- 18 wood planks
- 5 fence posts
- 1 sign of the same wood
Construction:
- Place 4 fences in the corners of a 3x4 rectangle.
- Add 8 upside-down stairs facing outwards above the fences with a plank strip between.
- Add a ring of 10 planks above that.
- Add 8 right-side-up stairs outward-facing with a plank strip.
- Place 1 fence post at the bottom center and a sign labeled Barrel in the middle.
Notes:
- Using the wrong type of wood barrel will reduce the quality of the brew.
Aging Your Brews
- Right-click the barrel and insert the bottles.
- Wait for the required number of in-game years.
Notes:
- 1 in-game year = 20 minutes in real life.
- Some recipes require a specific type of wood barrel.
Yeast Types
Alathra adds two custom yeast items:
Brown Yeast
Used for dark or grainy alcohols.
Crafted with:
- 4x Wheat
- 4x Brown Mushrooms
- 1x Bucket of Water
Red Yeast
Used for light or fruity alcohols.
Crafted with:
- 4x Wheat
- 4x Red Mushrooms
