* A Minor Race must contain differences in traits, biology, etc.

* A Minor Race cannot be used to bypass weaknesses or limitations of its parent race. For example, you may not create a magic-using Dwarf just to sidestep the canonical absence of Dwarven magic.

* A Minor Race can't "stack" the postive attributes of the parent race ontop of the minor race's own postive attributes.

* Minor Races must be significantly distinct in at least one aspect such as environment, appearance, behavior, belief system, or evolutionary divergence. Merely changing hair color, eye shape, or adding convenience powers is not enough.

* All Minor Races must be properly documented on the Alathra Wiki prior to submitting a character application. Documentation must include biology, cultural traits, and brief lore.

* If a Minor Race omits certain information in its documentation, those characteristics are assumed to match the parent '''Major Race''' by default.

===Lore Responsibility & Canon Status===

Creating a Minor Race makes you its first chronicler, you are responsible for its integration and sustainability in the world of Alathra. If all active members of a Minor Race go inactive, its page will remain, but staff won't maintain the race or support its involvement in broader canonical events.

Think of Minor Races as community-built branches of the tree that is Alathra’s lore. Plant them wisely, and they may flourish.
