It is believed that this magic enhanced their lifespans at the cost of severely reducing their spellcasting abilities. Due to being oversaturated with magic, Elysians are often incapable of using without the energy "overloading" their minds, driving them towards madness ~~of irmediate~~ death. ~~Ony~~ the strongest w-~~-wid~~ are able to use magic, but even they can be driven mad with enough usage.
