General Summary

Elysians are a subrace of men, hailing from a land outside of Alathra by the name of Elysium. Their old home was torn asunder by a variety of plagues, natural disasters, and demons. This period was known as the Wirrwarr to the survivors, and they were forced to evolve to survive such horrors. Elysians are now afflicted with a mental pressure on their minds that they simply call battle fatigue or, as other races have identified, PTSD. Due to the constant wars for survival in their homeland, they all experience night terrors as long as they are not engaged in combat. Even though they have fled far from their horrors, somethings can never truly be erased from their minds. Henceforth, Elysians choose to fight often in order to distract their minds from the terrors, embracing war to its fullest, often fighting as mercenaries, but in the end, they never know true peace.

Due to the nature of their dying homeland, which experienced a variety of volcanic eruptions that blotted out the sun, they were forced to adapt to colder climates, often performing extremely well in colder climates. On the other hand, Elysians are unable to live in warmer climates such as the vast deserts and warmer climates of Rhitosia.

The period known as the Wirrwar recently ended with the Great Voyage to Alathra with Elysians fleeing their homeland by breaking into storms saturated by magic. It is believed that this magic enhanced their lifespans at the cost of severely reducing their spellcasting abilities. Due to being oversaturated with magic, Elysians are often incapable of using without the energy "overloading" their minds, driving them towards madness of irmediate death.  Only the strongest w-lled are able to use magic, but even they can be driven mad with enough usage.

General Appearance

Elysian society often sport a variety of different articles for clothing. For military use, Elysians tend to incorporate lighter breastplates with face- masks soas to guard against the harsh arctic winds of their climate. Black and yellow dyed linen is often hidden beneath the armor, aso s to display Old Elysium’s colors. Elysian Cctizens, when not in active service ,tend to be bundled up in furc oats or leather jackets with a layer of light linen clothing underneath. Elysian Nobility,often fashionsthemselves in leather jackets, often accompanied by light breastplates for protection from potential attacks, beitherenvironmental or from the wildlife of the arctic wastes. No matter the class, however, all Elysians sport a bleak look about them and appear to be ragged and unkempt in their physical experience, especially in regard to their hair, which runs wild.
