Flohelme

Flohelme, officially known as the United Townships of Flone, is a union of settlements located on the largest island of the West Preludes. It consists of 8 towns, the biggest of which is Smule, also referred to unofficially as the capital due to hosting most of the union's governing bodies and its central location on the island. Each town is largely self-governing, with the union overseeing matters of the military, economic and diplomatic coöperation.

Flohelme's economy is mainly backed by its mining and metalworking industries. With some Alathran metals being exclusive to Flone's mountain formations, Flohelme is an important source of raw material for various engineering and manufacturing fields. Fishing and shipbuilding also employ a big portion of the population.

History

Pre-historic Flone was settled sometime during the Warm Age by Somani tribes, who slowly migrated northwest over the Preludean landmass. Following the floods at the end of the Warm Age, tribes became more separated, forming more distinct cultures. Sea trade remained important and was the only form of connection between the newly formed West and East Preludes.
