Runes are a replacement for the vanilla enchantment system. They apply effects to Weapons, Armor, and Tools. Each item has specific rune slots, which determine what color of rune can be applied.
Example
This means you can apply a total of 4 runes to the weapon and only Red and Yellow runes can be used in those slots.
Rune Types and Tiers
There are five rune tiers, each with the potential to enhance the effects of the previous one, though improvement is not always guaranteed. Rune stats are randomized within tier-specific ranges, meaning that while upgrading a rune can yield stronger effects, some attributes may actually become worse. Upgrading should be done strategically, as results can vary even when using higher-tier materials:

Shattered Runes can stack up to 64, however the other rune tiers don't stack.
Rune Colors and Their Uses
Each rune is associated with a specific color, which determines the type of item it can be applied to. Items have colored rune slots, and only runes matching those colors can be applied.
Each rune color also has its own dedicated page, showcasing all available runes of that type along with their effects, stat ranges, and usage details.

Make sure to match rune colors with compatible rune slot on the item. For example, a rune with a blue color cannot be applied to a weapon.
How to Obtain and Upgrade Runes
Shattered Runes
- Not craftable.
- Dropped by certain mobs or bosses.
- Can be purchased from the Magic Shop at spawn using XP Levels.
- Provide no effects themselves.
- Required for crafting higher-tier runes.
Crafting and Upgrading Runes
To upgrade a rune to the next tier, you need:
- 8 runes of the same type and tier
- 1 metal ingot (based on the tier you're upgrading to)
All 8 runes must be identical, same name and tier.

Rune Remover
The Rune Remover is a single-use tool that allows you to extract a rune from an item. This is useful if you want to recover a rune for reuse, but there are a few important limitations:
- The removal is random, you cannot choose which rune will be removed from the item.
- The extracted rune is returned to your inventory.
- The Rune Remover breaks after one use.
