About Major and Minor races

The races of Alathra form the cultural and biological backbone of the world’s evolving lore. Every character established into the world of Alathra belongs under one of the Major races, a selection of species defined and supported by staff as the foundation of the setting. These races are fully integrated into the world’s mechanics, cosmology, and narrative. Each race is created to offer players over Alathra's lifespan a gateway into the deeper stories, conflicts, and civilizations that define Alathra.

Alongside them are the Minor races, which represent some pre-made, but also player-created subraces branching from the Major Races. These custom cultures and lineages allow for personal worldbuilding and creativity, while still grounded in the greater lore. Players can look into creating a Minor race by reading the guide for creating a minor race, however, creating a race is a long-term commitment: players must cultivate them through sustained roleplay and community collaboration before they become canon.
