Lope Gutiérrez Ajofrín

Lope, end of the War of the Great Chaplains

Story

Coming from distant lands, he was born in a village called "del Llano", son of Pepe Gutiérrez Cordero and Maria Ajofrín Narváez Cabeza de Vaca. He was raised in a small house where he learned to read and write, taught by his uncle Rufino Martínez Ajofrín, who also trained him in the art of sword and halberd fighting. His father taught him the craft of goat herding, but destiny called him to battle. He enlisted in the ranks of the Grand Regiment of Valdehinojo as a frontline musketeer, eventually rising to the rank of sub-officer among its ranks. Due to partial loss of vision caused by a faulty musket fuse, he was forced to leave the frontlines and chose to travel to new places, discovering Alathra along the way and settling in these lands in search of adventure. He sought to work, make a living, and dedicate himself to raising livestock and goats like his father, as well as to reading and diplomatic tasks, as taught by his uncle. He made his home in the village of Roswell.

Origins

"Del Llano" is a village belonging to the kingdom of Toletvms, far from the lands of Alathra. Its inhabitants live in various towns and cities where they share a unique language: Episdmvs Noxtra.

During the Second Era, he was recruited by his uncle as a musketeer in the Regiment of Valdhinojo during the War of the Great Chaplains, in which he served for three out of the five years it lasted.

In the Regiment of Valdhinojo, he was nicknamed the "Lizardslayer" for having taken down 75 reptilians they fought against, using his dagger "Quitapenas" (“Sorrowbanisher”) in close combat.
